The Georgia Council of Graduate Schools will host its annual conference Thursday to Friday, April 19-20, 2018, at the Marriott City Center Hotel in downtown Macon, Georgia.
The theme of this year’s conference, broadly conceived, is Turning Challenges into Opportunities in Graduate Education. We invite proposals for presentations, sessions, and/or panel discussions that appeal to graduate studies faculty, staff, and/or administrators. Topics may include, but are not limited to:
  • Graduate Admissions, Student Funding, and Support Services
  • Partnerships Among Administration, Faculty, and Staff
  • Strategies for Fundraising
  • Accelerated Degree Programs
  • Graduate Certificates
  • Attracting and Supporting International Students
  • Recruitment and Retention of Underserved and Minority Students
  • Future of the Dissertation
  • Innovative Instruction in the Graduate Studies Classroom
  • Valuing the Humanities and/or the Social Sciences in Graduate Education
  • Experiential Learning, Internships, and Project-based Learning

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: FEBRUARY 9, 2018

Please submit one-page abstracts by Friday, February 9, 2018 to:

You may also elect to pay in person at the door or have an invoice sent to your institution by emailing the Treasurer, Gale Starich at gstarich@brenau.edu. The cost is $125 to attend the 2018 Spring Conference (includes cocktails and jazz on Thursday evening, breakfast and lunch on Friday) and/or you may also elect to join/review your GCGS membership ($60) at the same time as your register.
